It was long ago, I was little and still a kiddo.
'Baca betul-betul!'
'At thulaathi al mujarrad.. Err err'
'Meh sini kamu! Dekat sini!'
'Tadah tangan! Tegakkan!'
Paaaaap! Paap! Pappp!
'Cakap betul-betul dengan saya, kamu hafal ke tak kat rumah semalam?'
'Hafal usta..err'
Paaaap!
'Kamu tengok t.v tak semalam?'
'Errr.. Tak ustaz'
'Baca suratkhabar tak?'
'Errr tak jugak ustaz..'
'Habis tu kamu buat apa semalaman dekat rumah?'
'.............'
'Meh sini lagi tangan kamu!'
Paaaap!
I didn't cry infront of my friends. And so did my other friends who had to endure from getting myriad of slaps from our ustaz. I was bitter. I hated so much the ustaz that I wish he could quit the job real soon or even got fired would make me feel a relief from pain. Who loves to go to school when you have to sit in the class, getting slaps from your teacher everyday?
I was with him for two years. It was the day when I was informed that he got fired. Some said there were parents who couldn't agree with his ways of teaching the students. How is it permissible for an ustaz to act harshly and use vulgar words while in the class? I didn't know the real story, but many of the students could not stand about the parents' thingy. They even felt mad at the student who reported to her parents about the ustaz. As a result, he got fired. And my wish is granted.
Whatever it was, later I know the real story. The reason he got fired has nothing to do with the parents'. Maybe there is a hikmah behind all those tribulations. Who knows? When Allah loves someone, he'll give him trials to place him amongst those who are called His beloved.
And who knows, that when one is gone, He sends another one who is much better than the previous one. I feel much grateful for that. And that the one who made me a bitter person actually taught me things that are never forgotten until today. Things which I can benefit from them as well as others can benefit from.
Only those who are bitter yet do not want to try to grab the opportunity are not a person.
May Allah reward him Jannah for all the deeds he did.
Who says 'Sarf' is boring? Never.
